8:00 AM - 8:30 AM PT

Animation for the Real-Time Generation

The real-time revolution has arrived in previs, CG animation, VFX and more, empowering directors and artists to produce storytelling projects that are closer to their creative visions. But achieving the best results in real-time creation requires an in-depth understanding of the rapidly evolving technologies that power it. Whether you’re a student who wants to be at the forefront of the fast-changing entertainment industry or a professional looking to upskill, this session will help you to deepen your knowledge and skillset throughout the entire real-time animation workflow.

8:30 AM - 9:00 AM PT

Real Time Revelations: How using Unity can unlock your creative potential

I have worked on numerous high profile projects in the past, but none of them are as exhilarating as telling your own story. Previously, I felt that some software limited how much an artist could achieve single-handedly, but with Unity I've been able to expand my workflow and tell the stories I want without a massive team of artists.

9:00 AM - 9:30 AM PT

Keyframe Studios - real-time animation smarter, better and faster?

Keyframe Studios started working with Unity in 2012 in a gaming application and Asa Movshovitz the studio's founder quickly saw the potential for a real-time animation workflow. From 2015 Unity has been fully integrated in the studio's pipeline be that interactive, a brand experience or 4K animated content for broadcast. The presentation will map the studio's journey with Unity since 2015 and reveal how Unity3d has progressively become more integral in the pipeline. Ben Purkis, the studio's CTO, will reveal how limitations have been tackled along the way, and how we see Unity3d further evolving within the studio's workflow in the future.

9:30 AM - 10:00 AM PT

Animating Characters in Unity with Rokoko Mocap In less than 30 minutes

Sam Lazarus, Creative Director of Rokoko will show you how easy it is to record mocap and retarget it into your characters in Unity. In just 30 minutes, you’ll learn the pro workflows to inject life and motion into the characters in your games.

10:00 AM - 10:30 AM PT

Road to Realtime: Building your Worlds

Whether it’s an animated short or feature film, Unity makes storytelling faster, more flexible, and more cost-efficient by allowing you to explore and express your ideas fluidly with the power of real-time rendering technology. While Unity has powerful tools for developers, you don’t need to be one to be able to take advantage of its real-time storytelling power. Join us on the Road To Realtime as we learn how to bring your stories to life.

10:30 AM - 11:00 AM PT

Interacting with your Characters in AR

Looking for ways to create new content with your existing characters and assets? Want to use the power of augmented reality to bring your characters into the homes of viewers? In this talk, we will explore the power of AR for a wide range of applications - from 3D asset review, to allowing users to interact with their favorite characters - and demonstrate how you can create these applications yourself, with no prior experience.

11:00 AM - 11:30 AM PT

10x your material workflows with Unity ArtEngine

What if you could have 90% of your day back? Learn how to use Unity ArtEngine to quickly create and manipulate materials to make your texture workflows in film and animation 10x faster.

Can I create a Playable Ad with Project Tiny from a game I created in Unity?

Session title/description

What programming languages will be supported for developing game logic?

TypeScript is supported right now, with C# in the works. C# is the primary language of the Unity ecosystem and provides smaller and faster code. As a result, we will only be support C# once it’s ready.

What is the difference between WebGL Build Target and Project Tiny?

There is certainly some overlap between the two projects. The WebGL Build Target supports most of the features Unity ships with. The trade off is that the resulting projects are large which result in longer transport and startup times. If your goal is to publish more complex web-based simulations that run on desktop browsers, this is a strong option.

Project Tiny is a much lighter approach that provides very fast load times and small delivery size. This is achieved by providing fine grain control over what code modules are included. Project Tiny is designed for mobile viability which is why the initial release is recommended for Playable Ads and Games that run in messaging apps or social media platforms.

Can Project Tiny be used for other use cases?
